What motivates you to work hard?

Ain’t nobody gonna just give me a Bentley …

How long have you worked at LISI?

Well, I founded it, so since Day 1.

What were your previous employment roles and responsibilities?

Was a lawyer and an editor of legal-seminar manuals for several years. As a lawyer, I practiced tax law (I have an LL.M. in taxation) as well as dabbled in some other areas. As an editor, I was very involved in the production of the manuals, from collaborating with the writers, to applying the corporate stylebook I wrote, to layout and graphics, to printing and production.

What is it like to work for a fully remote company?

Heaven! (It was my idea to move from Center City offices to the current remote setup in 2009).

What has been the most important career advice you were given so far?

Form a corporate board of advisors of trusted business people. This led to many good decisions for the future of the company.

What do you like to do outside of the office?

Tennis, running, doing errands with my wife.

What is one thing on your bucket list you can’t wait to do?

Playing guitar in a bluegrass jam.

Are you a dog or cat person?

Dog, 100% (allergic to cats)

Wouldn’t do this, but if pressed, something by the Spice Girls.
